Newbiggin-by-the-Sea

A picturesque beach town in Northumberland, England. The beach itself is well known for its 500,000 tonnes of sand that were deposited here in 2007, making it a perfect spot for relaxing and spending time with family. Not to mention, the addition of ramps onto the sand makes the beach accessible for all. Although The Couple sculpture (two people gazing out to sea) is the most popular landmark in Newbiggin-by-the-Sea, the real star of the show is the breakwater. This wall protects the sand from strong waves and also provides a beautiful backdrop for photos. Visitors of all ages will enjoy exploring the rock pools that are revealed at low tide and spotting all sorts of sea creatures like dolphins, whales, seals, and otters. Whether you're looking for a peaceful place to read a book or an exciting place to build sandcastles, Newbiggin-by-the-Sea is the perfect beach destination for you.

Berwick - Upon - Tweed

The best beaches in Northumberland are concentrated around the town of Berwick-upon Tweed. One our favorite places to stay, it's no surprise that this beautiful ar

ea has so many great sandy stretches with crystal clear water for photography enthusiasts like us! If you're feeling energetic or just want an easy day at sea - there is also a coastal path leading towards Scotland which can be accessed from these shores (and lots more)!

Coves Haven, Holy Island

Imagine a remote beach that is often overlooked by visitors to Holy Island, who would only see Harbour Beach on their way. This one has some great features for those looking beyond just sand and surf - like lofty dunes backing it up (and making for perfect climbing!) as well cliffs at both ends which provide shade from hot summer sunbathers! You'll find no better spot if you're thinking about bringing your pup along too; we've got tons more places similar around here

Bamburgh Castle Beach

Bamburgh Castle Beach is one of the most photogenic Northumberland beaches. The 12th-century castle is an inspiring backdrop for games and sand sculpting. In winter, the beach's beauty is still evident. Gaze out from the beach across to the Inner Farne Islands and take a stroll northward to Stag Rocks and the rock pools which sit below the small lighthouse. Bamburgh Beach also attracts surfers as it is one of the more reliable surfing beaches in Northumberland.

Beadnell Bay

One of the best beaches in Northumberland, boasting an epic horseshoe of golden sand. The village of Beadnell is well set up for visitors, with a tiny harbour and a sailing club. The bay is popular with water sports enthusiasts who come to enjoy surfing, kitesurfing, windsurfing, sailing and scuba diving among other exhilarating pursuits. If you prefer to keep your feet firmly on solid ground, there’s a scenic walk from Beadnell along the sand dunes to Low Newton for a pub lunch.

Craster - Rumbling Kern Beach

Craster is a small village located on the northeast coast of England. The village is most famous for its smoked kipper delicacy, but it also has a hidden gem of a beach. Rumbling Kern Beach is located just south of Craster and is sheltered by cliffs and rocks. The beach gets its name from the sound the waves make as they come through a hole in the rocks at high tide. The beach is also home to The Bathing House, which once belonged to Earl Grey as part of the Howick Hall Estate. Rumbling Kern Beach is a magical place with plenty of coastline to explore. Whether you're looking to relax on the sand or take a swim in the sea, this beach has everything you need for a perfect day by the water.

Druridge Bay

A 7-mile stretch of unspoilt beach on the north-east coast of England. It's a great place for a summer's day out, with plenty of options for things to do. The Harbour Village at the Amble end of the bay is a great place to start, with its seafood, arts, and crafts huts. From there, you can head to one of the beach car parks and take a walk along the sand or explore one of the nature reserves behind the dunes. Either way, you're sure to have a great day out at Druridge Bay.
